Emergence
A finely articulated sculpture of upward-reaching natural forms, openings and delicate structural contrasts.
Emergence feels as if it is still unfolding. Rising from its mount, an open structure of natural forms reaches upward and outward: one stem climbs and curls into a hooked crest, another sweeps out low to the side, and between them the wood opens into windows and gaps that let light pass straight through. It is airy, articulated and finely balanced, its delicate tips contrasting with the denser wood at its centre. At 117 by 105 centimetres, it is broad and generous, yet it carries itself with a dancer's lightness.
