Voyager
An energetic open structure with a distinctive central arch and powerful twisting forms.
Voyager is all energy and motion. Its heaviest wood forms a great ring, a central arch that encloses a hollow heart, while around it rope-like strands twist and coil as if pulled by a current. At the top, curling ends lift like the prows of ships, carrying the eye onward. Wherever you look, the grain is in movement, wrapping and spiralling around the form. At 112 by 90 centimetres, it has a muscular, sculptural weight, yet its open centre keeps it light. It is a piece that seems to be travelling even while it stands still.
